MICHIGAN CITY, IND. (February 19, 2025) – Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions, announced the company’s custom-designed Sullair 185 Series Tier 4 Final Portable Air Compressor brought in $35,000 at the 2025 ARA Foundation Charity Auction. The winning bid was placed by Roger Adkins, Vice President - Air Compressor Business Manager at Ring Power.
For the seventh time, Hitachi Global Air Power has donated a Sullair portable air compressor to the ARA Foundation auction. This event marks the fourth year the company has paired the auction donation with an additional charitable contribution, amplifying its impact beyond the auction itself. This year, the donated air compressor was designed in support of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), and Hitachi Global Air Power also made a separate $10,000 donation to WWP in February.
The auction’s winning bid of $35,000 places Hitachi Global Air Power as the company garnering the highest bid for their auction item at this year’s event. It also sets a new record for proceeds from Sullair air compressors donated to the ARA Foundation Charity Auction, surpassing the former high of $32,500 set in 2021. This previous record was brought in by a pink Sullair 185 Series portable air compressor tied to Susan G. Komen® Chicago to support breast cancer awareness and research. This latest donation continues the company’s long-standing tradition of contributing to and supporting impactful causes.
During this year’s event, Hitachi Global Air Power was also recognized by the ARA Foundation and granted the James Keenan Commemorative Award. The award is one of the Foundation’s highest honors, which was presented during the ARA’s Industry’s Awards Lunch at The ARA Show in Las Vegas. The James Keenan Commemorative Award is presented to those who have made contributions totaling $25,000 in one-year or cumulative in a five-year period to the ARA Foundation.
“We have been proud supporters of the ARA Foundation for many years, and it is an honor to be recognized at their award ceremony,” said John Randall, Hitachi Global Air Power President and CEO. “It’s also exciting knowing this special compressor will have such a positive impact on the ARA Foundation’s vital programs in the rental community. These contributions demonstrate our dedication to supporting both our industry and giving back to the communities we serve.”
“We are pleased to have submitted the winning bid for this one-of-a-kind Sullair air compressor while also contributing to the rental industry through the ARA Foundation Charity Auction,” said Roger Adkins, Vice President - Air Compressor Business Manager at Ring Power. “Sullair air compressors offer proven reliability and durability, and we are excited to invest in a top-tier product with this special Wounded Warrior Project design. We are especially proud to display our support of those who serve our country.”
The 2025 ARA Foundation Charity Auction was held online from January 13, with the winners announced during the ARA Show in Las Vegas on January 31. To date, Hitachi Global Air Power’s contributions have raised over $155,000 for the ARA Foundation Auction and an additional $40,000 for outside charities.
Proceeds from the auction support key programs of the ARA Foundation, such as scholarships, employee training assistance grants, disaster relief, improvement projects that give back to our communities, and more. Founded in 1976, the ARA Foundation is a non-profit organization and an educational resource for the industrial equipment rental industry.
