Midland Manufacturing is brass, bronze and aluminum foundry and machine shop in Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1889, the shop specializes in castings for a variety of operations including pump companies, electricity providers and municipal waterworks facilities.
The shop office is lined with photos, plaques and antique pieces paying tribute to the Westhoff family’s dedication to this foundry and their customers over four generations.
George Westhoff, Jr.—President, Midland Manufacturing—started helping his Dad in the shop during the 1960s and now leads the foundry as they produce three main product lines. Midland’s product lineup includes water well pumps, municipal waterworks items such as water meter flanges and architectural plaques.
Much of Midland’s equipment requires air pressure to run. Compressed air is important to us
says Westhoff, Jr. Our shop rates run as high as $600 per hour. If we have downtime, it’s very costly to us.
A few years ago, Westhoff, Jr. made the decision to switch to a Sullair compressed air solution. The Midland Manufacturing Sullair compressed air setup includes one S-energy 7500 air compressor and a 500 cfm (14 000 L/min) refrigerated dryer. With a reliable compressor system like Sullair in place, I now have peace of mind that we have a continuous flow of air coming through our shop.
He goes on to say, I’d recommend Sullair to anyone who wanted my opinion.
