Sullair donates 20 computers to LaPorte WorkOne Center

Sullair, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, announced today it has partnered with Center of Workforce Innovations to enhance the Adult Learning Center of its managed WorkOne Center in La Porte. As part of this announcement, Sullair has donated 20 computers – 15 laptops and five desktops – from its facility to the organization.

“The Sullair team is pleased to donate our equipment to help enhance the skills and education of local community members,” said Jessica Bailey, Director of Human Resources at Sullair. “Donating computer equipment allows us to make a meaningful impact in the communities where our employees live and work and for those who may even apply to, or work for, Sullair in the future.”

Center of Workforce Innovations is a nonprofit workforce development organization involved with business, education, and economic development. They provide oversight of seven regional American Job Centers, known as WorkOne. The WorkOne facilities aim to be one-stop-shops for underskilled, underemployed and unemployed jobseekers seeking career and employment resources, from finding a job or making a career change, to improving interview skills and receiving assistance with resumes and cover letters.

The equipment donated by Sullair will be placed inside the Adult Education Center of the LaPorte-based WorkOne Center. The adult education centers are utilized by individuals looking to brush up on basic math, reading, and writing skills and prepare for the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam, formerly known as the GED.

“We are grateful for the equipment donation from Sullair,” said Linda Woloshansky, President and CEO at Center of Workforce Innovations. “This donation will allow us to have much needed and dedicated workstations for individuals preparing for and taking the HSE exam.”

Center of Workforce Innovations accepted the Sullair equipment on March 5th.
