Sullair, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, introduced its 185 Tier 4 Final Diesel Portable Air Compressor powered by a Caterpillar engine at The Rental Show today. The CAT model will be offered alongside the Kubota powered machine to provide customers with choices regarding their preferred engine.
“We continuously evaluate our product lineup to ensure we are meeting the needs of our customers,” said Russell Warner, Vice President of Rental & Infrastructure Sales. “Sullair has a longstanding partnership with Caterpillar, so we are pleased to offer a CAT engine option for our workhouse product.”
The unit is powered by a Tier 4 Final emissions compliant Caterpillar C2.2, 4-cylinder engine rated at 49 horsepower. The engine is turbocharged for easy start and reliable operation of the machine in both cold weather and high-altitude applications. With cold weather operation ready features as standard offerings, rental companies can reduce the variety of machines in their fleet and increase utilization. In addition, the CAT engine does not include a Diesel Particulate Filter, which eliminates the need for regeneration. This means increased uptime and less training for end users to manage the Tier 4 Final-related aftertreatment system.
With 185 cfm at 100 psig, the 185 CAT features the same durability, simple serviceability and maneuverability customers have come to expect from Sullair. The unit includes an improved 14-series air end assembled in the USA and a 27-gallon fuel tank providing up to 10 hours of use. The 185 CAT meets the needs of a variety of applications, from sprinkler and irrigation line blowout to mining and construction.
