This week we are celebrating National Women’s Equality Day — August 26. This day marks the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 when women were finally given the right to vote. As part of this celebration, Sullair is proud to highlight a few of our company’s talented women team members showcasing their diverse backgrounds, talents and expertise. We will be featuring a new Sullair star every day this week.

What is your favorite part of your job?
No two days are the same for me. The best part of my job is getting to see people’s success stories and helping them develop and reach their full potential.
How do you handle challenges or disappointments?
Challenges equal growth — it is sort of my personal mantra. No two challenges are the same and I always remind myself that being challenged is where I can grow the most. It is not always easy but reminding myself of this helps me keep a good perspective.
What was your very first job?
I couldn’t wait to start working and earning my own money. I started at age sixteen working as a cashier for Marshalls. My first job in HR was with Menards. The fast-paced retail environment gave me a lot of diverse experience quickly, right from the start of my career.
Who most influenced you growing up?
My mom was amazing. She was a single mother who worked full-time while taking night classes to better herself. I have so much respect for her and the strength she had – especially while watching her trying to re-learn Algebra at the kitchen table for one of her classes. She was so engaged in life.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am in a global role which means I have a lot of evening work calls during the week. I have five kids so on the weekends, I spend my time watching my kids play sports and just hanging out with my family - and being outside as much as possible.
