Hitachi Global Air Power Donates Sullair 185 Portable Compressor to the ARA Foundation auction

MICHIGAN CITY, IND. (February 1, 2024) – Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, announced it will donate a purple, Mardi Gras-themed Sullair 185 Series Tier 4 Final Portable Air Compressor to the ARA Foundation Charity Auction. Hitachi Global Air Power will make a separate $10,000 charitable donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in support of Alzheimer’s research and awareness.

Over the past several years, Hitachi Global Air Power has proudly stood by the ARA Foundation, championing their invaluable work supporting the rental industry,” said John Randall, Hitachi Global Air Power President and CEO. “We have also taken the opportunity in recent years to tie this support to other deserving charities close to our hearts. This year, we’re honored to contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization renowned for its research, advocacy work and unwavering support of families facing the challenges of this disease. Our dedication to these causes is more than a gesture – it’s a reflection of our values, a belief in shared responsibility and a strong commitment to our community.

The annual ARA Foundation Charity Auction is held in conjunction with the American Rental Association’s (ARA) trade show. This year, the auction will be held February 20, 2024 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the La Nouvelle Ballroom, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Online, early bidding begins February 1. This year’s Mardi Gras-themed purple portable air compressor is valued at $25,000 and features hand-written notes and remembrances from employees who support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

In addition to the donation of the purple compressor to the ARA Foundation, Hitachi Global Air Power will donate $10,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association to help support the organization’s mission of providing support to Alzheimer’s patients and their families as well as funding Alzheimer’s and dementia research.

We are so grateful to Hitachi Global Air Power for their commitment to the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia," said Natalie Sutton, executive director, Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter. "This disease affects everyone, including the business community, and partnerships like this are crucial to our mission. Their generosity will help us raise awareness, fund critical research and continue to provide free programs and services for all those affected.

2024 is the sixth year Hitachi Global Air Power has donated a Sullair 185 portable compressor to the ARA Foundation auction and the third year the donation has been tied to an outside charity. These donations have resulted in the ARA Foundation raising $110,000 through their charity auction. Additionally, Hitachi Global Air Power has contributed $30,000 to outside charities.

The Sullair 185 Mardi Gras-themed compressor is powered by a 49 hp Perkins 404F-E22T diesel engine. The unit delivers 185 cfm of air at 100 psi and is the most popular Sullair compressor for rental companies. The 185 Series compressors are often used in applications such as construction, mining, and landscaping.
