Sullair, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, announced it is donating a custom painted, Perkins-powered 185 Tier 4 Final Portable Air Compressor to the 2020 ARA Foundation Charity Auction and Reception. The compressor, which will be on display in the Sullair booth, was painted by Curly’s Inc., a premier bike and hot rod shop in northwest Indiana.
“Sullair is proud to be a long-time supporter of The ARA Show and its mission since nearly the beginning of our company,” Jack Carlson, President and CEO of Sullair. “Sullair was founded in 1965, and we’ve regularly appeared at The ARA Show since 1967. Continuing to show our support of the ARA Foundation is important to us, and we are gratified to know that our one-of-a-kind compressor equipment donation will help support educational and professional development opportunities in the rental industry.”
Curly’s Inc. is a one-stop shop for the customization of bikes and hot rods from the ground up — including fab, engine, paint, stereo and more. The shop is a long-time Sullair customer and depends on a ShopTek compressor for its day-to-day operations.
“This is the first portable air compressor we’ve custom painted in the shop, and I could not think of a more fitting organization,” said Lance “Curly” Waugaman, owner of Curly’s Inc. “We trust in our Sullair compressor day in and day out, so we were pleased to partner up and contribute to such a worthy cause.”
The annual auction and reception will be held at The ARA Show in Orlando on February 11, 2020. The ARA Foundation – the equipment rental industry’s charitable 501(c)3 organization – was founded in 1976 as an educational resource for the industry. Throughout the years, the organization has sponsored a scholarship program, disaster relief programs, a technical training grant program and young professional development.
The 2019 auction and reception in Anaheim raised more than $100,000 following 36 donations by exhibitors and fund-a-need contributions. This is the third consecutive year Sullair has donated a 185 Tier 4 Final portable air compressor to the auction.
